It’s taken me a while to come to terms with peanut butter. I used to love it, especially those Reese’s peanut butter cups. But after a large bag of them and some brutal Warped Tour sunburn, which resulted in me getting very sick, I couldn’t touch them for years. Couldn’t even stand the smell. After a break of several years, I have re-embraced peanut butter. Read More

Bear with me on this one, because I know it sounds kinda weird. Salted….. honey?!¬†It’s like salted caramel, but you know…. different. I’m pretty sure adding salt to sweet stuff is a proven scientific way of making things extra delicious. Well, maybe not science, but this cake will prove my point.

Breakfast Club: bakery 47 //

I love breakfast. I’d safely say it’s the best meal of the day. Just the thought of a full stack of pancakes dripping in maple syrup and maybe a banana, or a delicious buttery croissants with lovely jam, or French toast covered in icing sugar and also dripping in maple syrup… swoon.

I’ve been itching to try one out and as soon as I found this recipe I knew it was the one. I’ve used pecan cinnamon crumble as my topping (cus what’s a bit more cinnamon, amirite?)

Ahhhh, Autumn. The season of crunchy walks over golden leaves, a gentle chill in the air on a sunny day, drinking¬†pumpkin spice lattes (which I’m not sure are all that, personally!). I love this time of year. I’ve just had a friend visit and we Autumn’d our socks off. We walked through leafy parks. We drank hot cider. And we ate this delicious spiced pumpkin and chocolate cake.

Apologies For The Radio Silence… //

Sorry for the tumbleweeds rollin’ in from over here at the Bakehouse, life has seriously stepped up a notch! I’m moving to Glasgow in two weeks (!!!) and have been super busy popping up to Scotland, sorting out a place to live for Neil and I (and Captain!) and finding a job! (More about all that another day…)
