Breakfast Club: Papercup //
I love breakfast. I’d safely say it’s the best meal of the day. Just the thought of a full stack of pancakes dripping in maple syrup and maybe a banana, or a delicious buttery croissants with lovely jam, or French toast covered in icing sugar and also dripping in maple syrup… swoon.
So in an effort to get to know my new hometown, and keep informed of the fantastic breakfast opportunities within Glasgow (and beyond) I’m selflessly going to nice places and eating all the breakfast goods. I know, I know. Thank me later. With pancakes. And coffee.
Papercup is easily (in my opinion) the best place I’ve gone for breakfast in the West End. You’ve just got to try one of their delicious coffees, as they do their own small batch coffee roasting (and even have a Coffee Club, a subscription where you pay to get a bag of beans once a month!)
Breakfast is definitely a highlight of the food menu (though it’s on all day, and they do some delicious looking cakes made by local bakers and even the owners Mum!) I’ve enjoyed their french toast, served with chai ricotta, as well as baked eggs and avocado on toast. Everything is super fresh and so so good. Their menu has recently been updated, and I’ve yet to check it out, but I don’t doubt it’s going to be delicious.
The cafe itself is small but perfectly formed. Try grab a coveted window spot and watch the world go by on Great Western Road. Top tip: Try get here early, especially at the weekend. It’s not too big, but very popular!
